The HR Generalist is a part-time position responsible for providing assistance to the VP of HR & Grant as directed. The primary focus of this role will be recruitment with additional responsibilities in general HR functions, as needed. This role is ideal for a professional looking to contribute to a dynamic team while maintaining flexibility in their schedule. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
• Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop job descriptions.
• Update and maintain job descriptions.
• Post job advertisements on relevant platforms and manage candidate sourcing.
• Receives and reviews all applications/resumes, evaluates skills, and makes recommendations to hiring managers regarding applicant qualifications. Provides interviewing guidelines and is involved in the interviewing process as needed.
• Works with VP of HR & Grant Administration on compensation offer.
• Assist with offer letters, background checks, and onboarding of new employees.
2. General HR Support
• Ensure regulatory compliance in all aspects of HR.
• Stay informed about HR best practices and labor laws to ensure compliance.
• Maintain and update HR records and systems to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and assist with employee relations matters.
• Sits on Employee Activity Committee (EAC)
• Assist with training and development programs as needed.
3. Other duties as specified by the VP of HR & Grant Administration
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent discipline. Equivalent experience in a related role will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on recruitment and performance management.
• Familiarity with HR software and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
• Knowledge of ADP Workforce now preferred.

• Calm, organized, patient, diplomatic, and confident demeanor in working with staff
• Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding financial information.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences, including staff, volunteers, donors, service professionals, and external vendors.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment
• Work typically performed in an indoor, 3-floor office building
Tools and Equipment Used
• Personal computer, copier, fax/scanner, phone, and other typical office equipment
Travel
• Minimal-less than 5% of the time
Physical and Mental Demands
• Frequently required to sit at a desk/workstation for long period of time
• Ability to work at a computer terminal for extended periods of time
• Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
• Ability to speak to and hear employees/clients via phone or in person
• Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move between 3 floors
• Additional Mental Requirements: compare, decide, direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, interpret
• Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds
