Employment specialists work with clients to perform assessments, offer guidance with job readiness activities, and help obtain and retain stable employment for Welcome House programs and community collaborations including the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The Employment services include transitional jobs and job development as appropriate to individual needs and offers support throughout the process to clients and employers. The newly developed JIVA curriculum integrates recovery and employment through experiential job club activities, education, skill building and support.
Total served in 2008: 335 individuals The program serves clients with a wide range of abilities including mental health and chemical dependency issues, few marketable work skills and inconsistent work history. The program partners with other Welcome House programs as well as Transitions and No. KY Drug Court.
