I first came to Welcome House in 1988 to fulfill my student placement while attending Xavier University. After graduation I was hired as the Emergency Assistance Program and Volunteer Coordinator. In 1993 with the goal to gain broader knowledge and experiences, I worked in Therapeutic Foster Care at Beech Acres and began my graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. I was hired as the Executive Director of Welcome House in 1995 soon after graduation.
I have two grown children; Troy who lives in Chicago and loves the backwoods of Wisconsin and Lauren who just graduated from Ohio University and will be working with Doctors Without Borders. I became a resident of Newport almost 12 years ago – a transplant from Ohio. |
